Shaya was brought to me from Germany as a trained detection dog for rhino anti poaching work in the Greater Kruger Park. He became a legend for his skills as well as his quirky personality. He has a fettish for buckets and plastic bottles or anything that makes a noise when chewed. He stashed toys all over the bushveld and knew the names of them all! For example, I just had to ask him to "fetch bouncy", and he would dash away, eventually returning with the toy. He endured all the hardships of living in the bush without any luxuries and dodged many life-threatening experiences, including being spat in the eyes by spitting cobras, and loosing a leg. Even on three legs, he was a legend in the field and never showed any weakness. He loved his grooming brush more than anything, and water was his biggest weakness. Every puddle and pond was invaded.
